A cutting ring coupling consists of three parts: a nut, a cutting ring and a fitting. The nut is made of steel and stainless steel (SS), among other materials. The cutting ring is an annular piece of metal that is inserted into the fitting, clamping the pipe or tube. The fitting is the part attached to the other pipe or tube, into which the cutting ring is inserted.
The principle of the cutting ring coupling is simple but effective. When fitting the coupling, the cutting ring is pressed against the pipe or tube while the nut is tightened. This causes the cutting ring to cut into the material, providing a tight and leak-tight connection.
